Dressed for shul with slacks and white shirt and sandalim? Check
Laughed at old suit and tie hanging in closet? Check
Took home entirely too many parsha sheets (like ~10) just "cuz" I could? Check
Davening Shabbat AM started at 6:30 AM and took 1.5 hours? Check
Remembered to wear socks with my sandals for duchaning? NO - blew that one......luckily, the gabbai of the shul was kind enough to inform me that they had a minhag in the shul that Kohanim don't have to wear socks - a "kula" I took advantage of in a shaat hadchak....
Got an aliyah with a little "v'shavu banim" action thrown in at the end? Check
Had a ~5 hour lunch? Check
Would have melted if I was walking out in the Maale Adumim sun for much longer? Check
Spit sunflower seed-shells all over the playground in a completely callous manner? Check
A nice start.....

Richie & Elana - GREAT post. Shua especially liked hearing about your shabbos outfit! It was soooo great to see you guys at the Kotel, on the Medravhov etc. WOW! Just amazing..
Wonderful to see what you guys look like - can't wait to have you as neighbors. Where did you daven? Very exciting! It's almost like making aliyah all over again (NOT! - it was very different 20 years ago. And even more so for Gidon, who has been here 29 years.)

Your blog is awesome. I so enjoyed reading about your first Shabbat. The pictures are wonderful and the children look like little "sabras" already. Hope ima and abba are getting some sleep. We are here for you. Don't be afraid to ask.
What about:
Passed three shuls on the way to ours. Check.
Never said shabat shalom to so many people in my life. Check.
Enjoyed a summer havdalah before 10 pm! Check.
Very happy for you and yours Rich. Keep the great stories coming!
